Plain-English summary

Some links on Heat Pump HQ are affiliate links. If you click one and go on to make a purchase or complete a quote process with the partner, we may receive a commission at no additional cost to you.

Affiliate revenue does not change which heat pumps or installers we recommend. Editorial roundups ("Best Heat Pumps UK 2026", "Best Heat Pump Installers UK 2026", brand reviews) are decided on the publicly verifiable evidence — manufacturer specs, MCS Data Dashboard listings, Trustpilot / Checkatrade scores, Energy Saving Trust modelling, and the BUS guidance currently in force.

Where affiliate links appear

Affiliate links appear inline in editorial content with a short "affiliate link" disclosure adjacent to the link, and in summary CTAs at the top of commercial reviews and comparisons. Footers and navigation links are never affiliate-cloaked.

Current and planned partnerships

No affiliate programmes are currently approved or active. Any affiliate-style CTAs you see on the site at this stage point to internal placeholder URLs (e.g. /go/boxt, /go/heatable, /go/octopus-heatpump, /go/aira, /go/octopus-energy). These exist so that the editorial structure is in place for the day a real partnership is approved — they do not currently route to any affiliate network and we do not earn any commission today.

When a programme is approved, the placeholder will be redirected to the live affiliate URL and this page will be updated to name the partner and disclose the commercial arrangement. We will never falsely claim a partnership exists before it does.

Programmes we expect to evaluate over time include networks like Awin (BOXT, Heatable), Octopus Energy's referral schemes, and direct lead-gen relationships with vetted MCS installers. None of those are live yet.

What we do not accept

  • We do not accept payment in exchange for placement inside a "best of" editorial list.
  • We do not accept editorial control or pre-publication review from any affiliate or sponsor.
  • We do not run native-promotion arrangements that would breach the partner's own rules (e.g. BOXT's Awin terms forbid native promotion).
  • We do not sell quote-request leads. There are no lead-gen forms on the site and we have no infrastructure to capture or route leads.

Regulatory framework

This disclosure is intended to comply with UK ASA / CMA rules on affiliate and influencer marketing, and is broadly aligned with the US FTC 16 CFR §255 endorsement guidelines. Affiliate links are marked with rel="sponsored" per Google's webmaster guidance.

If you have a question about a specific link or a perceived undisclosed arrangement, please flag it — the editorial team will respond and correct on the page if warranted.
